DO ALL GULF POINTE STUDENTS LEARN LATIN?
No classical education is complete without the study of Latin, therefore all students in second through tenth grades study Latin. Studies show that learning Latin not only strengthens students’ ability to process and manipulate written and spoken language, but it also improves their ability to process and manipulate logic and math.
I AM CURRENTLY ENROLLING MY CHILD WHO HAS NEVER STUDIED LATIN. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
GPLS’s Latin classes are scheduled to allow students to study the Latin level corresponding to their need. There may also be opportunities for students to work ahead to catch up to their peers.
DOES GULF POINTE EMPHASIZE STEM EDUCATION?
Our high school students take algebra 2, geometry, pre-calculus and calculus. In science, students study biology, chemistry, physics and anatomy & physiology at the honors level. For years our students have outscored public schools, independent schools, private Christian schools, and even other CLSA accredited schools in math on the CLT and ITBS test. GPLS does not, however, emphasize STEM. Science and math receive the same emphasis as literature, history, philosophy, and language. GPLS strives for excellence in both humanities and math and science.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE FOR GULF POINTE GRADUATES?
In May of 2024 we are celebrating our first graduating class of seniors. Our class of 2024 is 100% college bound with 28 acceptance offers at 19 universities. To date, $1,619,736 of merit scholarships have been awarded to these seniors, with several top choices still outstanding. We are thrilled as we continue to see the college acceptances roll in. Our seniors have been accepted to a variety of private and public universities and have plans to pursue degrees in everything from philosophy and music to political science and business. Classical education is much more than a curriculum or way of educating students. It is a long and arduous journey that prepares students to live a virtuous life that will have an everlasting and positive impact on the world. Our hope is that students who graduate from GPLS - a Classical Christian school - will succeed not only academically but also professionally and spiritually. Our seniors have been accepted to the following colleges and universities: Baylor University, Belmont University, Berry College, Cedarville University, Dean College, DePaul University, Florida State University, Furman University, High Point University, Hillsdale College, Loyola University, New College of Florida, Southern Methodist University, Stetson University, Syracuse University, University of Montevallo, University of Florida, University of West Florida, and the University of Tampa.

IS GULF POINTE ASSOCIATED WITH A PARTICULAR CHURCH OR DENOMINATION?
GPLS is a Classical Christian school not associated with any particular church or denomination. Our faith statement is the Apostles' Creed, the most ancient and widely accepted expression of the essential beliefs of the Christian faith:
“I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.”
